Our client, a global leader in the Life Science / Analytical Instruments industry, is looking for high caliber professionals to drive their business in Asia Pacific.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in the sustaining engineering activities for the MiWave and Core Mass Spectrometer products
Provide engineering support to resolve Corrective Action Requests initiated by Customer Service, Product Development, Product Management and Production activities
Perform technical investigations on specific areas of systems that require improvements or enhancements, supported by prototypes and properly documented analyses, calculations and tests to validate design solutions
Investigate and resolve issues due to hardware components obsolescence and using root cause failure analysis to improve product quality, manufacturability and product returns.
Provide technical leadership for the development and execution of test setups and application programs to troubleshoot and resolve product issues reported by customers and/or to validate products to all applicable specifications
Responsible for post product development tasks including functional specification development, circuit schematic design, creation and execution of product test plans and creation of product design documentations.
Exercise sound engineering judgment to make the necessary design compromises on medium to complex mechanical systems through technical design reviews
Effectively work with people and co-ordinate activities with outside vendors, suppliers and contractors
Update drawings and Bill of Materials within an integrated Product Data Management (Matrix One) environment
REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
At least 6 years of relevant experience in the high technology field
Strong electrical engineering background with some systems engineering experience
Experience with 3-D CAD software (CATIA V5 and/or AutoCAD Mechanical Desktop preferred) as well as Design for Manufacturing/Assembly/Testing (DFx) concepts, and tolerance fit analysis
Effective verbal and written communicate skills across all levels and functions within a multi-disciplinary product development environment
Demonstrate organizational skills to successfully meet and/or exceed design requirements, schedules, and costs
Knowledge of controllers, i/o modules and communication modules to develop and implement system test setups to-troubleshoot and resolve product issues
